Contexto
In this manoeuvre, sometimes called a graveyard spiral, the aeroplane is at a high bank angle and descending. Trainees will learn in this situation that applying up‑elevator in an attempt to arrest both the increasing speed and sink rate causes the spiral to tighten. The skill learned is that it is imperative to get the wings close to level before beginning any pitching-up manoeuvre. Trainees must decrease the bank angle and then apply up‑elevator to recover. If g-loading is large, the pilot will need to offload some g to regain adequate roll control.
