- Nota Adicional2
- If the speed of descent is too low, alter the throttle setting accordingly.
- Contexto
- The most common functions are altitude and heading hold. Some more advanced systems include a vertical speed or indicated airspeed (IAS) hold mode, where a constant rate of climb/descent or indicated airspeed is maintained by the autopilot.
- Several factors affect the rate of descent in autorotation; density altitude, gross weight, rotor r.p.m., and airspeed. Your primary control of the rate of descent is airspeed. Higher or lower airspeeds are obtained with the cyclic pitch control just as in normal flight.
- Autorotation airspeeds. For Category A helicopters, airspeeds for autorotative landings shall be established. For other helicopters, the autorotation airspeeds recommended for maximum range and minimum rate of descent shall be established.
