Contexto
If there is a failure of the pressurised air supply, the check valve will close and trap pressurised air in the cabin.
The other function of the vent is solved by the use of a check-valve. As fuel heats up while the aircraft is parked it expands. The tank may fail if the venting of pressure is not allowed. Yet the fuel must not be allowed to flow freely from the vent. In some aircraft, check valves have a small hole in them to allow air equalization and a small amount of fuel seepage.
