Small, transparent or translucent, round or irregularly shaped pellets of ice. Ice pellets may be hard grains that rebound on striking a hard surface or may be pellets of snow encased in ice.

Contexto
For the purposes of depth measurements, the term “snow” should also include ice pellets, glaze, hail, and sheet ice formed directly or indirectly from precipitation.
The descriptor TS shall be used only in combination with one or more of the letter abbreviations RA,SN, PL, GS and GR, to indicate thunderstorm with precipitation at the aerodrome, for example TSSNGS.
