Contexto
Aircraft stand markings should include such elements as stand identification, lead-in line, turn bar, turning line, alignment bar, stop line and lead-out line, as are required by the parking configuration and to complement other parking aids.
The turning line should incorporate a straight portion at least 3 m in length at the final aircraft position. This provides a 1.5 m section prior to the final stopping position to relieve pressure on the landing gear and at the same time to correct the aircraft alignment, and a section 1.5 m long after the stopping position to reduce the thrust required and, thereby, blast on “ break away ” . The length of the straight portion referred to above can be reduced to 1.5 m in the case of stands meant for small aircraft.
