Nota adicional1
The runway surface conditions used in the runway condition report establish the performance requirements between the aerodrome operator, aeroplane manufacturer and aeroplane operator.
Nota adicional2
Aircraft de-icing chemicals and other contaminants are also reported but are not included in the list of runway surface condition descriptors because their effect on runway surface friction characteristics and the runway condition code cannot be evaluated in a standardized manner.
Contexto
The review of the database records revealed that the following causal factors were involved in some of the aborted landings: fog, crosswind and horizontal gust, poor planning, improper operation, delayed decisions to abort the landing, lack of pilot experience on aircraft type, landing roll, collisions, distance misjudgment, excessive airspeed, improper landing flare, power loss, runway surface condition (wet), incorrect procedure, inadequate compensation for wind, excessive pilot self-confidence and excessive weight balance.
