- Contexto
- There are two recognized ways for aircraft to follow guidelines. In one, the nose of the aircraft (or pilot’ s seat) is kept over the line; in the other, the nose wheel traces the line. Annex 14, Volume I, Chapter 3, specifies that the taxiway curves should be designed so as to provide the required clearances when the cockpit of the aeroplane remains over the taxiway centre line markings. This is primarily because of the difficulty the pilot would have in ensuring that the nose wheel follows the guidelines. In some aircraft the nose wheel is displaced as much as 5 m behind the cockpit.
