Nota adicional1
Orographic refers to something of, pertaining to, or caused by mountains as in orographic clouds, orographic lift or orographic precipitation.
Contexto
Orographic clouds provide an ideal natural laboratory to observe the microphysical properties and to study cloud processes, because orographic MPCs occur frequently especially in higher altitudes. However, due to their origin, orographic clouds are not accessible with research aircraft. Ground-based observations on the other hand can provide measurements over several hours to days, but are limited to single point observations.
