The minimum altitude to be used under instrument meteorological conditions (IMC), that provides a minimum obstacle clearance within a specified area, normally formed by parallels and meridians.

Contexto
In areas of high latitude where it is determined by the appropriate authority that True North orientation of the chart is impractical, the area minimum altitude should be shown within each quadrilateral formed by reference lines of the graticule (grid) used.
