swashplate
- Definição1
- Transfers motion to the rotating component.

- Definição2
- The component in a helicopter control system that consists basically of two bearing races with ball bearings between them. The lower, or nonrotating, race is titled by the cyclic control, and the upper, or rotating, race has arms which connect to the control horns on the rotor blades. Movement of the cyclic pitch control is transmitted to the rotating blades through the swash plate. Movement of the collective pitch control raises or lowers the entire swash plate assembly to change the pitch of all of the blades at the same time.

- Definição3
- An assembly that controls the pitch of the rotor blades, comprising a stationary lower member controlled by the pilot and an upper member, rotating with the rotor, linked to the blade-pitch control arms.

- Definição4
- 1. A component of a helicopter control system to change the pitch of a rotor blade by an up-and-down motion. A swash plate has two sections. The upper section, or moving star, can tilt in any direction. It rotates at the same speed as the rotor, as do the rods and appendages above it. The lower, or nonrotating, race is titled by the cyclic control, and the upper, or rotating, race has arms that connect to the control horns on the rotor horns. The collective pitch control lever raises or lowers the entire swash plate assembly and changes the pitch of all the blades at the same time. On the other hand, movement of the cyclic pitch control is transmitted to the rotating blades through the swash plate. 2. As it relates to variable output pumps, it is the plate that helps to alter the stroke of the piston and, in turn, the output of the pump. Normally, it is used in a high-pressure fuel pump.

- Gyros are used to generate electrical signals to drive hydraulic servos or electrical actuators to tilt the swashplate to resist the helicopter’s motion. The system is designed to distinguish between pilot inputs and gust induced motion.
