Airlines attempt to reduce losses caused by no-shows by employing tactics such as overbooking, reconfirmation, and no-show penalty charges.

Some airlines include a no-show clause in their Contract of carriage. It basically means that a user not showing up for the outbound flight will be considered a no-show, and all the connecting flights associated with this one, even a return flight, will be cancelled and no refund will apply.
Contexto
Those incidental revenues which may be directly attributed to passenger include revenues from passengers paying less than 25 per cent of the applicable fare, commissions received on sales transportation on other carriers, "no-show" and cancellation fees.
It should be borne in mind that the revenue figures do not generally take into account incidental operating revenues. Incidental revenues (which may be directly attributed to passenger traffic) include revenues from passengers paying less than 25 per cent of the normal applicable fare, commissions received on Sales of transportation on other carriers, “no-show” and cancellation fees (expenses incurred against these revenue items are however included in the Cost figures shown in column 7).
