IDENT feature

Identification feature. The special feature in the Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System (ATCRBS), SSR (Secondary Surveillance Radar) and military radars equipment used to immediately distinguish one displayed target from other beacon targets. The pilot must press the “ident” button for this function to work.
