- The code letter for Element 2 shall be determined from Table l-2, selecting the code letter which corresponds to the greatest wing span, or the greatest outer main gear wheel span, whichever gives the more demanding code letter, of the aeroplanes for which the facility is intended. For instance, if code letter C corresponds to the aeroplane with the greatest wing span and code letter D corresponds to the aeroplane with the greatest outer main gear wheel span, the code letter selected would be “D”.
