- (1) The flight path of an aircraft in glide, as seen from the side. (2) The glide slope (i.e., the path used by an aircraft-in-approach procedure generated by an instrument landing facility). (3) An aircraft on a PAR (precision approach radar) approach is instructed by ATC (air traffic control) to approach "above the glide path", "on the glide path", or "below the glide path". (4) A descent profile, determined for vertical guidance during a final approach (ICAO). (5) In parachuting, the descent angle through the air along which the parachute descends.
