- The TLOF can be located at ground or rooftop level, or on an elevated structure. The TLOF is normally centered in the FATO.
- Contexto
- A touchdown and lift-off area may be any shape but shall be of sufficient size to contain a circle of diameter 1.5 times the length or width of the undercarriage, whichever is the greater, of the largest helicopter the area is intended to serve.
- The surface of a FATO surrounding a touchdown and lift-off area (TLOF) intended for use by helicopters operated in performance classes 2 and 3 shall be static load-bearing.
