- Contexto
- The performance of a properly designed arresting system can be predictable and effective in arresting aircraft overruns. One such design is based on the use of engineered materials which will crush under the weight of an aeroplane, thereby absorbing its energy. This type of system, known as the engineered materials arresting system (EMAS) has already been implemented at many airports.
