The visibility forward from the cockpit of an aircraft in flight (ICAO). It is the average horizontal distance at which prominent unlighted objects can be seen and identified by day and prominent lighted objects can be seen and identified at night.

Contexto
Within a control zone, the appropriate ATS unit can permit special VFR flights to be conducted so that the aircraft is flown with a flight visibility of not less than 1.5 km, clear of clouds and in sight of ground or water.
