Fires involving upholstery and similar solid combustibles are Class A materials, which require cooling and quenching for extinguishing. The officer-in-charge may find it advantageous to use water, preferably a water fog, on fires of this type. Experience, planning and knowledge of how to use available equipment and agents to best advantage are the best guide in making a decision.
