- Except where TDZ lights are provided in accordance with paragraph 5.3.13, at an aerodrome where the approach angle is greater than 3.5 degrees and/or the Landing Distance Available combined with other factors increases the risk of an overrun, simple touchdown zone lights should be provided.
- When the point along the runway at which the aircraft will be aimed during descent (the aiming point) is depressed below the horizon at the apparent desired approach angle, the pilot initiates descent by aiming the aircraft at the selected aiming point.
