- When inspecting the landing gear, identify any landing gear that appears serviceable. Landing gear in the extended position must be secured, by installing landing gear down-lock pins. Once the aircraft has been levelled and lifted, it is sometimes possible to extend the landing gear and secure it by installing landing gear down-lock pins.
