- Rotation: the act of moving the control yoke or stick aft to raise the nose of an aircraft during the take-off run to facilitate the aircraft becoming airborne.
- Stabilator and elevator system components include the control stick, push-pull rods, cables, bellcranks, control valves, and power cylinders. When the control stick is moved longitudinally, the motion is transmitted by push-pull rods to the bellcrank. It is then transmitted by a cable assembly to another set of push-pull rods. The second set of push-pull rods activates the control valve, which meters hydraulic fluid to the power cylinder.
