Nota adicional1
Very high frequency (VHF) is the ITU [International Telecommunication Union] designation for the range of radio frequency electromagnetic waves (radio waves) from 30 MHz [Megahertz] to 300 MHz, with corresponding wavelengths of ten to one meters.
Contexto
Frequency bands allocated by ITU for the aeronautical mobile service include some in the high frequency (HF) spectrum (3,000 to 30,000 kHz), others in the very-high frequency (VHF) spectrum (30 to 300 MHz) and ultra-high frequency (UHF) (300 MHz to 3,000 MHz).
Regulatory provisions to facilitate the use of the off-set carrier (climax) system on 8.33 kHz voice channels in the very high frequency (VHF) band (117.975-137 MHz) were introduced representing a frequency-efficient technique for using VHF frequencies over large geographical areas.
