- Nota adicional1
- Very high frequency (VHF) is the ITU [International Telecommunication Union] designation for the range of radio frequency electromagnetic waves (radio waves) from 30 MHz [Megahertz] to 300 MHz, with corresponding wavelengths of ten to one meters.
- Contexto
- Frequency bands allocated by ITU for the aeronautical mobile service include some in the high frequency (HF) spectrum (3,000 to 30,000 kHz), others in the very-high frequency (VHF) spectrum (30 to 300 MHz) and ultra-high frequency (UHF) (300 MHz to 3,000 MHz).
- Regulatory provisions to facilitate the use of the off-set carrier (climax) system on 8.33 kHz voice channels in the very high frequency (VHF) band (117.975-137 MHz) were introduced representing a frequency-efficient technique for using VHF frequencies over large geographical areas.
