- Contexto
- The flight guidance and display systems of modern airplanes are impressive: vertical navigation (VNAV) and lateral navigation (LNAV) capabilities, advanced autothrottles, inertial reference system (IRS) navigation, and IRS navigational displays have become familiar equipment. They are ideal for operations in complex environments, but in trying to conform with ATC instructions, they present problems to the flight crews.
- Earth-referenced navigation (ERN) (Doc 9613). Navigation which is dependent on an external navigation source or inertial reference system (IRS) but is not dependent on a single fixed site.
