Contexto
Boundary control of each successive sweep through an area is assigned to the pivoting flanker. During the first leg of the search, one flanker will try to follow a natural boundary or predetermined compass course while the other flanker marks the trail at the other end of the line. When the first leg has been completed, the line pivots about the number two flanker and proceeds in the opposite direction on the second leg.
