- Advanced visual docking guidance systems (A-VDGS) include those systems that, in addition to basic and passive azimuth and stop position information, provide pilots with active (usually sensor-based) guidance information, such as aircraft type indication (in accordance with Doc 8643 - Aircraft Type Designators), distance-to-go information and closing speed. Docking guidance information is usually provided on a single display unit.
