Kinetic heating causes the Total (or Ram) Air Temperature (TAT) to be warmer than the Static Air Temperature (SAT). TAT is close to the temperature of the wing leading edge, which also experiences ram rise.
Contexto
Total air temperature is an essential input to an air data computer to enable the compu-tation of static air temperature and hence true airspeed.
