An international trade body, created over 60 years ago by a group of airlines. Today, IATA represents some 240 airlines comprising 84% of total air traffic. Over 60 years, IATA has developed the commercial standards that built a global industry. Today, IATA's mission is to represent, lead and serve the airline industry.

International Air Transport Association (IATA) operates as a non-profit organization. The Organization offers programs, cargo, publications, financial, consulting, training, events, and other related services. IATA serves communities worldwide.
Contexto
A second edition of the IATA Runway Excursion Risk Reduction (RERR) Toolkit was also developed in conjunction with ICAO and other stakeholders. It consists of a comprehensive collection of runway safety reports, workshop materials, presentations and best practices. The toolkit, initially planned as an IATA commercial product, is now freely available on ICAO’s Runway Safety website.
In common with similar organizations, IATA conducts trade association activities in which all member airlines participate.
