- Definição1
- An operation in which the propeller blades move to the lowest pitch from the high-pitch angle consequent to feathering. This reduction of the angle of the blades' aerodynamic forces unloads the engine and causes the propeller to rotate faster or, if there is no engine power, causes the propeller to autorotate, thus increasing RPM.

- Definição2
- To change the blade pitch of a propeller from the feathered high pitch, which prevents air loads windmilling it, to a lower pitch. When a propeller is unfeathered in flight, aerodynamic forces produced by air flowing over the blades cause the propeller to turn the engine.
