- Gran parte del mantenimiento de aeronaves se realiza dentro del singular entorno de un gran hangar. Los techos altos hacen difícil la adecuada iluminación y grandes puertas abiertas hacen problemático el control de la temperatura, la humedad y las corrientes de aire. Así pues, las condiciones de trabajo en el hangar tienden a ubicarse entre las de mantenimiento en rampa y las de mantenimiento en taller técnico.
