equivalent airspeed
Definição1
The calibrated air speed of an aircraft corrected for adiabatic compressible airflow for the particular altitude. It is the indicated air speed corrected for inherent errors within the instrument and errors caused by compression of the air inside the pitot tube. Equivalent air speed is equal to calibrated air speed in the standard atmosphere at sea level.

Definição2
Airspeed equivalent to CAS in standard atmosphere at sea level. As the airspeed and pressure altitude increase, the CAS becomes higher than it should be, and a correction for compression must be subtracted from the CAS.
