- This phase begins when the crew establishes the aircraft at a defined speed and configuration enabling the aircraft to increase altitude for the purpose of cruising; it ends with the aircraft established at a predetermined constant initial cruise altitude at a defined speed or by the crew initiating a “Descent” phase.
