Contexto
The fuel cell of the DHC-6 ruptured and created the vaporous cloud of fuel that the witnesses on the Colorado River most likely had observed.
ICCAIA (CAAF/09-WP/13) provided a snapshot of current knowledge and past experiments associated with non drop-in fuels and advanced aircraft system power technologies with the aim of demonstrating that the requirements for drop-in fuels are actually based on sound technical arguments and data. Non drop-in fuels have proved most useful for use other than in aircraft main engines, for example using hydrogen in a fuel cell to provide energy for on-board electrical supply. It was realized that current commercial aviation is highly dependent on oil to produce the appropriate fuel (kerosene) that matches the requirements necessary to support air travel.
The Council considered C-WP/14001, presented by the President of the Air Navigation Commission and which contained a proposal to amend the 2013-2014 edition of the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air (Doc 9284). It was noted that the proposal includes an amendment to a reference for safety standards for fuel cell technologies as well as an amendment to the passenger and crew provisions to carry dangerous goods.
