air brakes
Sinônimos
air breakes
Definição1
A plate, or a serie of plates, which when extended, increases the aircraft drag rapidly, thus enabling rapid reduction in speed or regulation in the descent. Airbrakes form an integral part of the airframe and are more effective at high speeds. Airbreakes may be located on the top or the bottom of the wing, or on the side of the fuselage.
