Certain dangerous articles or substances are classified as dangerous goods by Annex 18 — The Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air and the associated Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air (Doc 9284) and must be transported in accordance with those instructions. In addition, the Aviation Security Manual (Doc 8973 – Restricted) provides a list of prohibited items that must never be carried in the cabin of an aircraft.
